Dear Golfers,

Well it looks as though the rainy season is here but we have been lucky so far as there hasn’t been too much wind and only a few days that were too wet to play.  Too wet to play for most players, but there a few of our loyal members who are brave enough the play in stormy conditions!  The days where there is no rain are actually beautiful golf days so those of you who live locally can look outside in the morning and if it looks ok, come on out to enjoy a some great golf!

The Heineken Medal Day Series continues this month on Saturday, October 17th This will be the second of the 4 Heineken Medal Days to be held this fall.  Remember you just need to register for the competition before you tee off that morning and you can play with your regular group and whenever you want during the day.  (Detailed rules and Information are available at Reception)  Points will be earned based on net scores and will be cumulative over the 4 Medal Day competitions.  The 4th and final Medal Day will be a shotgun tournament event; at the end of which, the total point winners for the series will be announced and will win a spot in the Heineken National Final!  And as always, there is free Heineken Beer provided on each Medal Day!  The Points leaders after the first Heineken Medal Day held in September are: Nguyen Huu Thuong (Div B HDC 7-21); Tran Duc Hien ( Div C HDC 13-18); Mai Xuan Dong ( Div D 19-24)

Dear Golfers,

The month of September delivered 317.5mm of rainfall. Almost that entire total fell in the middle of the month with the highest 24 hour being 112mm. It has now been over two weeks without rainfall, so I’m sure there is still a lot of rain to fall, in the near future.

The fairway verti-cutting is now complete. The first few fairways that were completed are almost completely recovered. An organic slow release fertilizer will be applied over the next few weeks. If all goes to plan, the fairways should be in solid condition leading into the high season.

Tree pruning has continued throughout the course. This process is allowing the turf to receive more sunlight and air movement which will help establish better turf grass to help overcome heavy traffic moving into the high (cool) season.

More machinery is getting replaced over the next few weeks. Slowly the fleet is growing and hopefully in the near future a complete facility of equipment will be fully restored.

Rule 17-1  Flagstick Attended, Removed, or Held up

Before making a stroke from anywhere on the course, the player may have the flagstick attended, removed, or held up to indicate the position of the hole.  If the flagstick is not attended, removed or held up before the player makes a stroke, it must not be attended, removed or held up during the stroke or while the players ball is in motion if doing so might influence the movement of the ball.

Many players think that the flagstick can only be attended once you are on the green but that is not the case as you can see here in rule 17-1.

On 09 Sep 2015, VinaLiving officially introduced its latest residential development in Ho Chi Minh City called “Nine South Estates”.

Each architecturally designed home will include a private swimming pool and backup power with full access to an extensive range of developed facilities and amenities already built within beachfront and non-beachfront zones within Danang Beach Resort itself.

Facilities within project itself will include an exclusive 4,000m2 park reserve that will be delivered complete with kid’s playground, BBQ facilities and an array of recreational amenities to provide additional activities for our clients and their guests. This facility will sit between Phase 1 homes and the Danang to Hoi An main coastal road, with Phase 1 homes and full infrastructure to be completed by early November 2015. Phase 2 homes and infrastructure is scheduled to be completed by the latter part of Q1 2016 respectively.
