NEWSLETTER JUNE 2015 Vietnamese

Dear Golfers,

June is here and with it comes some hot days!  We hope you will take advantage of our twilight special and play some holes during the cooler afternoons.  For those of you who don’t mind being a bit warm on the course, you will have smooth sailing around the Dunes Course during the day and you will be enjoying greens that have recovered very nicely from the renovations.  The greens are nearly back to being perfect again and the course is playing firm and fast, the way it was designed.

Later this month we will be revising our already delicious menu to feature some new dishes that you must try!  We will be offering beer and wine specials to go with the new menu items so look for these specials in the coming weeks!

Our new club repair shop at The Golf Learning Center at the driving range is now operational so stop in and say hello to Geoff Smith for an evaluation of your equipment.  Perhaps the grip on your driver is getting slippery or maybe it needs to be resized to fit you perfectly.  Geoff is here to improve your game, whether it be with a swing analysis and some instruction, new custom fitted shafts for your woods, or just a few new grips.  Spend a little time and tune up your game for the summer!  See you here at the club!

Thank you,

General Manager
Danang Golf Club
From the superintendent

Dear Golfers,

Thank you for your patience during the past few weeks. The maintenance staff have done everything they can to accelerate the recovery process, in order to return them to their true playing surfaces.

The recent coring has now fully recovered and within a week or so the greens will return to the normal firmness and quickness.

As you may have noticed the staff is trying to shorten the turf grass around bunkers to allow for a “cleaner” look and help remove awkward stances that may occur when a ball does roll into the bunker. This is a very slow process that may take up to 6 months to complete. While on the subject of bunkers many native grass that used to be located on the faces has been removed in selected areas. Again this will help eliminate and eradicate poor lies.

As the weather continues to stay very hot, dry patch (when an area of turf repels water rather than absorbs it) starts to become more prominent. Luckily there are some really good products on the market to will allow the team to overcome this issue.

Thank You,

Dan Brown
Golf Course Superintendent.

A player hits his ball into the native area which is not a hazard.  He thinks he may not be able to find the ball so he plays a provisional ball.  The original ball is found but it is in a difficult position and he cannot play it.
May the player play his provisional ball?
The answer is no. The provisional ball is played in case the original ball can not be found. Once the original ball is found, the provisional ball is no longer an option. If the original ball is deemed unplayable, the player then must choose between his three options:

1. Drop a ball within 2 club-lengths, no nearer the hole, of the unplayable ball's position.
2. Drop a ball behind that position in line with the hole, as far back as he wants to go.
3. Play another ball from the position the original ball was played.
a. All of which incur a penalty of one stroke.
Good Luck and Good Golf!

VinaLiving were the recipients of three major award wins at the International Property Awards 2015 / 16 for development excellence on May 2015, one of the region's most valued industry awards.

Acknowledging excellence in construction, design and innovation, the annual awards recognise industry professionals who plan and construct quality new developments.

This is the thirteenth time that VinaLiving has been recognised at this prestigious event since taking out its first awards in 2011.

VinaCapital was recognised across the three categories it entered which included ‘Best Golf Development’ in Vietnam (Danang Beach Resort), ‘Best Villa Development in Vietnam (Dai Phuoc Lotus) and ‘Best Development Marketing for VinaLiving. All three will now compete at the Regional Awards due to be held in London in early December 2015.

The continuing success of the Danang Beach Resort, Dai Phuoc Lotus and the VinaLiving brand are further underlined by the tremendous success with the recent launch of The Point which has seen over 80% sold out since it was initially launched to the market in Q4 2014.

We also recently witnessed the official ground break of the Sheraton Danang Resort hotel on an 11.5ha parcel within Danang Beach Resort itself. The hotel will feature 250 guestrooms and upon completion will boast 1,066 square meters of meeting and function space, including two ballrooms and five meeting rooms. In addition, the resort will open the Shine Spa for Sheraton™ alongside one of the brand’s signature restaurants and one other dining venue. Recreation facilities will include a swimming pool and the state-of-the-art Sheraton Fitness®. Construction is due to start in Q3 2015 with a completion date slated for early 2018.

In other news, VinaLiving is now gearing up for the imminent launch of The Ocean Apartments (Phase 2) in Danang which will comprise a number of 1 and 2 bedroom resort apartments that can be purchased as a holiday home or placed into our Danang Beach Resort rental pool to generate a rental income for the owner investor.

We will also be announcing a new landed villa project in Ho Chi Minh City that will launched to the market within the next 2 monthst. This landmark project will feature 381 townhouses and semi-detached houses on a 12.9 ha project site in the Saigon south locality. Further information about this project will be released soon.

Upon completion, The Ocean Apartments will comprise three low-rise towers offering a range of premium one- and two- bedroom apartments boasting unobstructed views of the East Sea, Cham Islands and Danang Golf Club.

The first phase, comprising 46 apartments, is now 90% sold.  Phase 1 is scheduled to be delivered from July 2015 in line with our promises to clients.

New facilities for this project will include a lagoon pool, children’s pool and kids club, lobby and arrival area, restaurants, gymnasium, and other F&B offerings. The development of these additional facilities over the next 6 months reinforces our commitment to further developing Danang Beach Resort into a prime, integrated resort capable of competing with its international peers in the region.

The project’s second phase will be shortly launched to the market and will comprise a range and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.

To ensure full service delivery to our clients, the VinaLiving facilities management team will again offer rental pool services in order to provide a regular income stream for owners (subject to terms and conditions).

To secure this opportunity and capitalize on our pre-launch pricing before the Phase 2 official launch, register your details now.

Inspired by ‘The Dune Residences’ (now sold out), The Point consists of forty 3-bedroom villas split evenly between 2 phases comprising 20 villas each. Phase 1 has now sold out, with 11 (out of 20 homes) within Phase 2 now finding buyers.

These homes will offer 3 bedrooms and a space of 286 sqm on land plots ranging from 261 to 342 sqm.  Each home includes a private swimming pool and back up power with full access available to an extensive range of developed facilities and amenities already located within Danang Beach Resort including WhiteCaps Beach Club and the Danang Golf Club itself.
