Dear Golfers,

June is here and with it comes some hot days!  We hope you will take advantage of our twilight special and play some holes during the cooler afternoons.  For those of you who don’t mind being a bit warm on the course, you will have smooth sailing around the Dunes Course during the day and you will be enjoying greens that have recovered very nicely from the renovations.  The greens are nearly back to being perfect again and the course is playing firm and fast, the way it was designed.

Later this month we will be revising our already delicious menu to feature some new dishes that you must try!  We will be offering beer and wine specials to go with the new menu items so look for these specials in the coming weeks! 

Our new club repair shop at The Golf Learning Center at the driving range is now operational so stop in and say hello to Geoff Smith for an evaluation of your equipment.  Perhaps the grip on your driver is getting slippery or maybe it needs to be resized to fit you perfectly.  Geoff is here to improve your game, whether it be with a swing analysis and some instruction, new custom fitted shafts for your woods, or just a few new grips.  Spend a little time and tune up your game for the summer!  See you here at the club!

Dear Golfers,

Thank you for your patience during the past few weeks. The maintenance staff have done everything they can to accelerate the recovery process, in order to return them to their true playing surfaces.

The recent coring has now fully recovered and within a week or so the greens will return to the normal firmness and quickness.

As you may have noticed the staff is trying to shorten the turf grass around bunkers to allow for a “cleaner” look and help remove awkward stances that may occur when a ball does roll into the bunker. This is a very slow process that may take up to 6 months to complete. While on the subject of bunkers many native grass that used to be located on the faces has been removed in selected areas. Again this will help eliminate and eradicate poor lies.

As the weather continues to stay very hot, dry patch (when an area of turf repels water rather than absorbs it) starts to become more prominent. Luckily there are some really good products on the market to will allow the team to overcome this issue.

RULE OF THE MONTH

A player hits his ball into the native area which is not a hazard.  He thinks he may not be able to find the ball so he plays a provisional ball.  The original ball is found but it is in a difficult position and he cannot play it. 
                May the player play his provisional ball?
                The answer is no. The provisional ball is played in case the original ball can not be found. Once the original ball is found, the provisional ball is no longer an option. If the original ball is deemed unplayable, the player then must choose between his three options:

1. Drop a ball within 2 club-lengths, no nearer the hole, of the unplayable ball's position.
2. Drop a ball behind that position in line with the hole, as far back as he wants to go.
3. Play another ball from the position the original ball was played.
a. All of which incur a penalty of one stroke.

In other news, VinaLiving is now gearing up for the imminent launch of The Ocean Apartments (Phase 2) in Danang which will comprise a number of 1 and 2 bedroom resort apartments that can be purchased as a holiday home or placed into our Danang Beach Resort rental pool to generate a rental income for the owner investor.

We will also be announcing a new landed villa project in Ho Chi Minh City that will launched to the market within the next 2 monthst. THE POINT – PHASE 2 INTRODUCED ON 2ND APRIL 2015 WITH AN OFFICIAL LAUNCH ON THE 9TH APRIL 2015 IN HANOI
